During the processing of injection molds, various kinds of numerical control machining are available. The most widely used are CNC milling and machining centers. The applications of CNC wire cutting and CNC EDM in mold NC machining are also very common. Wire cutting is mainly used in various applications. A kind of straight wall mold processing, such as punching and embossing mold, inserts in the injection mold, slider, electrode for EDM and so on. For mold parts with high hardness, machining methods cannot be used to process them. Most of them use EDM, and EDM is also used for sharp corners, deep cavity parts, and narrow grooves of mold cavities. The CNC lathes are mainly used for machining standard parts of mold rods, and mold cavities or cores of revolving bodies, such as injection molds for bottles and pots, and forging molds for shafts and disks. In the mold processing, the application of CNC drilling can also play a role in improving the processing accuracy and shorten the processing cycle.
